August 2011

Precision X-Ray has shipped, and will soon install its tenth X-RAD 225Cx image guided radiation research platform at the University of Chicago. The University will be using the X-RAD 225C for translational research with small animal image guided radiation therapy (IGRT).

With operating installations in both the US and Europe, the X-RAD 225Cx has become the unit of choice for some of the most Prestigious Universities and Research Establishments. The X-RAD 225Cx research platform allows these users the capability to conduct, and share their research using the same IGRT platform.

February 2011

New York University is the latest medical research center to order the X-RAD 225Cx small animal image guided irradiation research platform. The NYU Langone Medical Center will join the many research centers, both in the US and Europe, already using the platform and sharing information on the X-RAD 225Cx's capabilities.

Researchers at the University Health Network, Toronto, Canada, who have two X-RAD 225Cx research platforms have written a paper on the performance and reliability of the system that will be published in the February 2011 issue of Medical Physics Vol 38, No2.

OCTOBER 2010

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is the latest organization to order an X-RAD 225Cx Small Animal Image Guided Radiotherapy Research Platform for radiation biology studies and preclinical research. The University was able to purchase the research platform after successfully applying for, and being awarded a Grant from the National Center for Research Resources (Grant #1S10RR02801-01).

The decision to purchase the X-RAD 225Cx was made by the University after intensive research, comparing design and key software features with other systems available. A major contributing factor in their decision was that the specimen remains stationary while the x-ray head and detector rotate around it, mirroring actual IGRT treatments performed in clinics.

With five X-RAD 225Cx's already installed and several more on order, Precision X-ray has scheduled the first users group meeting to be held in San Diego in conjunction with the ASTRO meeting on November 1st.

SEPTEMBER 2010

Radiation Research Society 56th Annual Meeting
Precision X-ray is again proud to be a sponsor for the annual meeting of the Radiation Research Society being held this year at The Grand Wailea Resort in Maui, Hawaii. This year's meeting starts September 25th and Precision X-Ray will be in attendance to provide information on their cabinet x-ray irradiators and the new Small Animal Image Guided Radiation Research Platform already in use at research facilities in the US, Canada and Europe.

APRIL 2010

Precision X-Ray is pleased to announce that Duke University has placed an order for an X-RAD 225Cx CT image guide irradiation system, which will enhance the university's capabilities in several areas of radiation research. The X-RAD 225Cx will be installed at the Duke University, Durham, North Carolina campus, where it will be used by several departments, such as, Duke's Oncology Department, RadCCORE (Duke's Center for Medical Counterterrorism against Radiation), and by other research scientists at the University.

The X-RAD 225Cx will be added to Precision X-Ray's other existing installations of X-RAD 320 x-ray irradiators at Duke University.

MARCH 2010

The X-RAD 225Cx ordered by Maastricht University has now been successfully installed and commissioned at their facility, where it is currently being used for project STERRPA, which translates to the Spatio-Temporal-Energetic Radiation Research Platform for Animals.

Maastricht University has also rechristened the X-RAD 225Cx with the name, SSmART after its intended use for Smart Small Animal Radio Therapy. Precision X-Ray looks forward to working with the University on future developments to expand the research capabilities of the X-RAD 225CX, or SSmART system as it is known to the researchers at Maastricht.

MARCH 2010

The University Health Network has recently ordered its second X-RAD 225Cx CT image-guided pre-clinical irradiator which is slated for installation at the prestigious STTARR research facility, located in the MaRS complex in Toronto. The world's first X-RAD 225Cx was originally installed and commissioned at the University Health Network's (UHN), Princess Margaret Hospital over a year ago. The X-RAD 225Cx has now proven it can perform critical cancer research in the laboratory which corresponds directly to actual image-guided radiotherapy treatments (IGRT) done on patients. The X-RAD 225Cx's importance as a revolutionary new tool in the global fight against cancer, has resulted in other research facilities acquiring X-RAD systems, both in North America and Europe. With the help of Princess Margaret Hospital, groundwork has been established for the users of these systems to form an informal group to discuss, and collaborate in the advancement of the X-RAD 225Cx capabilities.

FEBRUARY 2010

Precision X-Ray, through its European distributor, RPS Services has successfully installed and commissioned an X-RAD 320 Cabinet irradiator with TouchRAD multi user control at the Lyon-Sud-Charles Merieux Medical School, France. The X-RAD will be used for research by the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology.

DECEMBER 2009

In December Precision X-Ray delivered an X-RAD 320 to the prestigious University of Heidelberg. Installed in the Radiobiological University Clinic and to be used for advanced radiation research, this unit was the last to be delivered to Europe in 2009.
The sale to the University of Heidelbergh establishes RPS Services as Precision X-Ray's most successful dealer with double digit sales and installations in several European countries.
