APRIL 2010
Precision X-Ray is pleased to announce that Duke University has placed an order for an X-RAD 225Cx CT image guide irradiation system,
which will enhance the university's capabilities in several areas of radiation research. The X-RAD 225Cx will be installed at the Duke
University, Durham, North Carolina campus, where it will be used by several departments, such as, Duke's Oncology Department, RadCCORE
(Duke's Center for Medical Counterterrorism against Radiation), and by other research scientists at the University.
The X-RAD 225Cx will be added to Precision X-Ray's other existing installations of X-RAD 320 x-ray irradiators at Duke University.
MARCH 2010
The X-RAD 225Cx ordered by Maastricht University has now been successfully installed and commissioned at their
facility, where it is currently being used for project STERRPA, which translates to the Spatio-Temporal-Energetic
Radiation Research Platform for Animals.
Maastricht University has also rechristened the X-RAD 225Cx with the name, SSmART after its intended use for Smart
Small Animal Radio Therapy. Precision X-Ray looks forward to working with the University on future developments to expand
the research capabilities of the X-RAD 225CX, or SSmART system as it is known to the researchers at Maastricht.
MARCH 2010
The University Health Network has recently ordered its second X-RAD 225Cx CT image-guided pre-clinical irradiator which
is slated for installation at the prestigious STTARR research facility, located in the MaRS complex in Toronto.
The world's first X-RAD 225Cx was originally installed and commissioned at the University Health Network's (UHN),
Princess Margaret Hospital over a year ago. The X-RAD 225Cx has now proven it can perform critical cancer research
in the laboratory which corresponds directly to actual image-guided radiotherapy treatments (IGRT) done on patients.
The X-RAD 225Cx's importance as a revolutionary new tool in the global fight against cancer, has resulted in other
research facilities acquiring X-RAD systems, both in North America and Europe.
With the help of Princess Margaret Hospital, groundwork has been established for the users of these systems to form an
informal group to discuss, and collaborate in the advancement of the X-RAD 225Cx capabilities.
FEBRUARY 2010
Precision X-Ray, through its European distributor, RPS Services has successfully installed and commissioned an X-RAD 320
Cabinet irradiator with TouchRAD multi user control at the Lyon-Sud-Charles Merieux Medical School, France. The X-RAD will
be used for research by the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Biology.
DECEMBER 2009
In December Precision X-Ray delivered an X-RAD 320 to the prestigious University of Heidelberg.
Installed in the Radiobiological University Clinic and to be used for advanced radiation research,
this unit was the last to be delivered to Europe in 2009.
The sale to the University of Heidelbergh establishes RPS Services as Precision X-Ray's most successful
dealer with double digit sales and installations in several European countries.
DECEMBER 2009
After months of successful testing of the new X-RAD 225Cx the University Health Network's,
Princess Margaret Hospital has issued the following Press Release.
NOVEMBER 2009
Precision X-Ray has installed the first X-RAD 320 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. With the assistance of our
local representative, Advanced Systems Company (ASCO), the X-RAD biological irradiator is set up in the Biomedical
Physics Department at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh. The equipment was funded by
King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) under project ARP-27-12 and it will be used to advance
medical research in radiobiology and cancer treatment.
OCTOBER 2009
Precision X-Ray has received its first order from South Africa from the Nelson R. Mandela School of Medicine
for an X-RAD 160C cabinet irradiator to be used in cancer and AIDS related research.
Precision X-Ray introduces the newest addition to the X-RAD 320 cabinet irradiator product line with the
introduction of the X-RAD 320DX cabinet irradiator with motorized door. The closure of the motorized door
environmentally seals the irradiation chamber of the X-RAD 320DX so that gases can be introduced into it.
Prior to opening the door again the X-RAD 320DX features an auto purging system that safely vents any gases
away from the area of the cabinet.
SEPTEMBER 2009
Precision X-Ray is pleased to announce that Maastricht University has placed an order for an X-RAD 225Cx CT image guided
irradiation system. This is the second order for an X-RAD 225Cx received from Europe, and also the second from The Netherlands.
Both systems will be supplied with the latest high resolution digital imaging capability, as well as the recently developed
precision collimator system for accurate targeting of the selected irradiation area.
SEPTEMBER 2009
To accommodate it's growing specimen radiography (OEM) and irradiator manufacturing business, Precision X-Ray has added 8,500 sq feet
to its existing facility in North Branford, CT. The additional space will be used for X-RAD manufacturing, while the existing space will
allow expansion of the specimen radiographic cabinet (OEM) manufacturing.
Precision X-Ray welcomes Robert Hase in the position of X-RAD Product Manager. Robert will oversee all aspects of the X-RAD irradiator
product line, and brings experience in x-ray tube and power supply design and manufacturing from his previous position as an Engineer with Comet North America.
Comet is the worlds leading manufacturer of x-ray tubes, and supplies Precision X-Ray with those used in the X-RAD systems.
JULY 2009
Precision X-Ray has installed the first X-RAD 320 x-ray irradiator in China.
The Western China Hospital in Chengdu has purchased an X-RAD 320 to add to its capabilities for advanced Cancer Research.
JUNE 16, 2009
The Netherlands Cancer Institute, NKI-AVL has placed an order with Precision X-ray for an X-RAD 225Cx, CT image guide irradiation system.
NKI-AVL is the second customer for the X-RAD 225Cx after University Health Network, Toronto, Canada, and the first in Europe.
NKI-AVL has ordered several unique features to upgrade the systems performance and after installation it is expected to highlight the
advantages of increasing the precision of image guided irradiation in research to meet those used in actual treatments.
JUNE 2009
Precision X-Ray introduces the X-RAD 320DX(dual axis) x-ray irradiator, capable of delivering an x-ray dose in either a vertical or horizontal direction.
The X-RAD 320DX is based on the proven X-RAD 320 and comes with the same features and options.
The first X-RAD 320DX will be installed in The Netherlands, An X-RAD 225DX is currently in the design stage. |
